Sources within the FIRS confirmed that the newly approved salary structure includes a 60% raise applicable across all departments, including the security unit. This adjustment is considered a key component of broader reforms designed to reward employee dedication, attract highly skilled professionals, and further motivate staff to achieve even greater results in revenue generation.

The news of the salary increase has been met with widespread enthusiasm among FIRS staff members, who have described the development as both timely and well-deserved recognition of their hard work. One employee expressed immense relief and noted that the increment clearly demonstrates the agency’s appreciation for their contributions.

The Northern Renaissance Network (NRN) has also publicly commended the FIRS Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, for his leadership in securing the salary increase, highlighting its potential to significantly enhance morale and productivity within the tax agency.

The anticipated boost in morale and productivity is expected to translate into more efficient tax administration and potentially higher revenue collection for the government.
